Conditions of participation

For all our non-German-speaking friends here are the conditions of participation in English:

Music-loving schoolchildren from Baden-Württemberg, Germany and other European countries are being targeted by a competition organized for the 17th time on June 18, 2024, by the „Artists For Europe e.V.“ association in cooperation with the 7us media Group, Europa-Park and the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports. The „Euro Hit of the Year“ is being sought. This will be published worldwide via a professional label and will receive a lot of marketing and promotional support in the press, TV and internet.

Tolerance, friendship between peoples, diversity, non-violence and reflection on common European values are the main themes of this attractive European song contest.

Celebrity sponsors of the contest are DSDS (German Idol) winners Prince Damien and Davin Herbrüggen.
The best six groups or individual performers selected by a jury will be invited to the grand finale on June 18, 2024, at Europa-Park, where they will perform in front of 2,500 fans. The event will be recorded for television and broadcast nationwide on a delayed basis.

Taking part is easy – and possible for (almost) everyone – whether bands, individual singers, school classes or music clubs. Private music schools or music clubs can also sign up. The only requirement is that the musicians involved should not be older than 26 years. Deadline is April, 26.th.

The task is either to interpret the already existing pop song „Welcome To Europe“ in a new arrangement and/or lyrics. The participating bands and individual performers can use already existing text passages completely, but also only parts of it.

Or they can compose and write a completely new song. Original composer Rolf Wetzel: „It doesn’t matter whether the lyrics are about a private love story, encounters on vacation, whether the contribution is a journey through the regions of Europe, or whether topics such as sports or music are taken up – the only thing that matters is that it’s about experienced Europe.“ The musical style does not matter: „Whether rock or pop, blues or hip-hop, folk or pop, heavy metal, alternative rock or punk, whether big band jazz to choir – or even brass band arrangements. The language chosen is also up to the participants. However, it should be spoken in Europe.“

Audio samples, arranged in the various musical styles and many languages are available on Spotify under „Welcome to Europe.“

The songs can be recorded and sent as mp3 along with a biography of the contributing musicians/editors to:

The closing date for entries is April, 15th, 2024.

All entries will be reviewed by a prominent jury. The best musical entries will be published and presented live at the Grand Final in June 18, 2024 at Europa-Park in front of 2500 fans, which will take place as part of the international music festival Euro-Musique. A competent jury of music experts will then decide, together with the audience on site, who will be crowned the winner.
